Girls Volleyball: Broad Run Junior Taylor Austin Named Cedar Run District Player of the Year

Broad Run: Champions!

(Nov. 7, 2012) - Broad Run High School junior Taylor Austin, who helped the Spartans to both the Cedar Run District regular season as well as tournament titles, has been named the district's Player of the Year in a vote of the coaches.

Broad Run's Ellen Roberts shared Coach of the Year honors with Patriot's Christina Woolwine.

The Spartans placed four athletes on the first team including Austin, senior Tara Compher, senior Amanda Swanson and junior Rachel Hendricks.

Freedom had three first team selections: sophomore Haley Kramer, senior Kaylynn Mayo and senior libero Andrea Phung.

Girls Volleyball: Ellen Roberts Returns to Coach Broad Run Varsity

(Apr. 27, 2011) - Broad Run High School has named Ellen Roberts as head varsity volleyball coach. Roberts, who coached the Spartans before giving way last season to assistant Betsy Scudder, replaces Scudder who stepped down after the winter season.
