(May 8, 2013) - If the college football recruiting experience had gone for Cory Colder like his sparkling high school career at Briar Woods had gone, then he'd be lacing up his shoulder pads at a big-time NCAA Division I program next year like his teammates Matt Rolin (Florida) and Cam Serigne (Wake Forest).

Football: Briar Woods to Hold Signing and Recognition Ceremony for Six Falcons Continuing their Careers

(May 7, 2013) - Briar Woods High School will hold a college signing and recognition ceremony in the school's library on May 15 after school for six football players that helped the Falcons to three consecutive VHSL Division 4 state titles.

Previously Briar Woods had NCAA Division I BCS signings of seniors Cam Serigne (Wake Forest) and Matt Rolin (Florida). Joining those two, playing next year will be:

• Mike Barta (College of William and Mary)
• Devin Ramos (Shippensburg University)
• Darryll Gadsden (Shenandoah University)
• Jonathan Rosa (Frostburg State University)
• Josh Jacob (Evangel University)
• Cory Colder (East Coast Prep postgraduate school)

Football: Briar Woods JR Running Back Cory Colder Offered by Bucknell

(May 3, 2012) - Briar Woods High School junior running back Cory Colder received his first football scholarship from Bucknell University. Bucknell, a Patriot League member, is now permitted to give athletic scholarships which makes Colder's one of the first scholarship offers by Bucknell.

Colder helped the Falcons to a second straight VHSL Division 4 state title in the fall, rushing for a school record 1,525 yards on 271 carries for a 5.6 yard average. He also scored 23 touchdowns. He had 186 yards rushing in the state title 28-26 win over Christiansburg on 27 carries including a 34-yard TD romp.
