Baseball: 5 Aldie Senators Make 2013 North VBL All-Star Squad

(July 4, 2013) - The Aldie Senators have five players on the 2013 Valley Baseball League North All-Star Team including Freedom High School grad Matt Malacane (OF, Seton Hill) and Woodgrove alum J.J. Sarty (2B, William & Mary).

Also making the team from the Senators: Luke Leftwich (RHP, Wofford), Jimmy Dowdell (OF, Boston College) and Matt Tindall (RHP, Trinity).

The VBL All-Star game is scheduled for Sunday, July 7 at Veterans Memorial Park (James Madison University) in Harrisonburg, Va., at 7:30 p.m. 63 players were selected to the All-Star game with 32 on the North team and 31 on the South.

Baseball: Aldie Senators Hit A Thon Moved to Tuesday, July 16; Team Has 3 Home Games this Week

(July 1, 2013) - Due to the impending weather, the Aldie Senators Hit A Thon has been moved to Tuesday, July 16 at 5 p.m. at John Champe High School.

(June 23, 2013) - The Aldie Senators came rambling down I-81 and took the town of Staunton by storm last week!

The Staunton Braves came into the contest in first place in the Southern Division, nationally ranked, and widely recognized as the strongest team in the Valley Baseball League. That didn't stop the Senators though as they knocked off the Braves, 10-2, behind an extremely strong offensive night from Travis Ferrick (5-6), and great pitching by Wofford College standout Luke Leftwich.

Baseball: Aldie Senators, 3-1 on Season, Start 4-Game Homestand Tonight at Champe High School

(June 10, 2013) - The Aldie Senators, 3-1 on the young Valley Baseball League season, will be back at John Champe High School for a 4-game home stand beginning on Monday June 10.

The Senators upcoming home stand schedule is:

• Monday, June 10, 7:30 PM vs. the Strasburg Express 
• Tuesday, June 11, 7:30 PM vs. the Woodstock River Bandits 
• Wednesday, June 12, 7:30 PM vs. the Waynesboro Generals 
• Thursday, June 13, 7:30 PM vs. the Front Royal Cardinals 

Gates open at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for Senior Citizens, Military and children 12 years old or less are free of charge. Remember that Little Leaguers that wear their jerseys on Tuesday and or Wednesdays are admitted free.

Baseball: Aldie Senators Valley Baseball League Team Opens Tonight at John Champe High School

Aldie (May 31, 2013) - The Aldie Senators open their regular Valley Baseball League season tonight, Friday, May 31 against the Front Royal Cardinals at John Champe High School. Game time is 7:30 p.m. and the gates will open at 7.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and for children 12 and under. Military personnel and veterans are admitted free. Season passes are also available and can be purchased at the gate or via the Senators website at www.aldiesenators.com.

Little League players that wear their team jerseys at any Tuesday or Wednesday night home games during the season are also admitted free.

The Senators this season will feature a roster with some players that have local connections including: Matt Malcane (OF, Seton Hill/Freedom High School), J.J. Sarty (SS, William & Mary/Woodgrove) and Kyle McCormack (P, Frostburg State/Broad Run). Matthew Reed (C, Clemson/Woodgrove) was potentially playing but is fighting an injury.

Baseball: Aldie Senators to Play Home Games at Champe High School

Aldie (Dec. 29, 2012) - Beginning with the 2013 Valley Baseball League season, the Aldie Senators (formerly known as the Haymarket Senators) will play all of their home games at John Champe High School.

The Aldie Senators will open their 2013 VBL season at home against the Front Royal Cardinals on May 31, 2013. The Senators previously played their home games at Battlefield High School.
