Soccer: Team Registration Now Open for Calvary FC SoccerFest Set for June in Leesburg

Leesburg, VA (April 17, 2013) -- For the 20th consecutive summer, the area’s largest and most dynamic festival of fun, sun and soccer returns to the Washington D.C., metropolitan area. Known for celebrating the sport in family-friendly environment with an emphasis on fun, Cavalry FC SoccerFest (renamed for its new sponsor!) returns to Loudoun County’s Morven Park (41793 Tutt Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176) on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.


Cavalry FC SoccerFest will build upon the tradition and legacy of McDonald’s McSoccerFest and D.C. United SoccerFest. The tournament will consist of two full days of 4v4, small-sided soccer with divisions for every age (U6, U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16), gender and competitive level, including an adult division (ages 17 and older). More than just a tournament, the event offers a true celebration of the sport with dozens of onsite activities including instructional clinics, appearances by professional players, fan festivals and vendor booths.


Registration is now open with an early-bird registration fee of $175 per team in effect now through midnight, Friday, May 31. The cost increases to $200, starting on Saturday, June 1 until the final registration deadline of midnight, Friday, June 22. Each team is guaranteed to play in four matches, all of which will be held during one session – morning or afternoon on Saturday or Sunday. Teams can register for more than one tournament session and receive a discount of 15-percent off the regular team rate. Produced by BWF Events, the tournament welcomes a new title sponsor with the Virginia Cavalry FC, Loudoun County’s new entry into the professional North American Soccer League (NASL) set to debut in April 2014.
