News: Suspect in Sunday Morning Pursuit Charged with Series of Burglaries in Loudoun

(March 13, 2013) - An Alexandria man who led authorities on a pursuit from Fairfax County and into the Lowes Island area on March 10th has been charged in connection with a series of burglaries that occurred earlier this year in Loudoun County.

Victor T. Ellis, 25, was charged Sunday with three counts of burglary, one count of breaking and entering, two counts of grand larceny, one count of credit card larceny, and one count of credit card fraud.


The charges stem from three incidents in the South Riding area and a separate case in Sterling. He is charged in connection with the January 21st burglary of a home on Howerton Drive in South Riding where he allegedly used a remote garage door opener inside an unlocked vehicle to gain entry into the home. An iPod and a wallet were taken and the victim’s credit card was later used at various locations in the area. In the second case a garage on Dabner Drive was entered on January 21st. The suspect appears to have used a remote garage door opener that was inside a vehicle to gain entry. Change was taken from two vehicles. In another incident the suspect entered a vehicle on Shaler Street on January 21st and removed sunglasses from a vehicle parked inside the garage. It is believed the suspect again used a remote garage door opener inside a car parked outside the home to gain entry into the garage.

The fourth burglary occurred on February 28th at a home on Darkhollow Falls Terrace in Sterling. In that case the residence was entered by damaging a rear window. Jewelry, a laptop and other electronics were taken. Also charged in this case is Denisa C. Terry, 31, of Herndon, Virginia. Terry was charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny. She remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Ellis remains held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, working with the Fairfax Police Department, were able to identify Ellis who was involved in burglaries in Loudoun and Fairfax. The case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible.

Prior to his arrest, Ellis was involved in a pursuit with officers from the Fairfax County Police Department. Around 6:30 AM on Sunday he crashed the vehicle in the area of Hardwood Forest Drive and Algonkian Parkway in the Lowes Island area and fled from the scene on foot. Members of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the Virginia State Police and the Fairfax County Police conducted an aerial and ground search for the suspect.

Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department later located the suspect in Herndon, Virginia and took him into custody.
