Football: Jake Walker Earns 1st Broad Run IT Cadre Student Athlete of the Month Award

Ashburn (March 19, 2013) - The Broad Run High School football program and IT Cadre have paired up to recognize a football student athlete each month. The first winner of this award is Jake Walker, a junior offensive and defensive lineman.


Walker also throws the shot and discus for the track team. He had six teachers nominate him for this award.

The criteria for this award are that a football player must attend 90 percent of the lifting days during the month. A list is then sent to the faculty and staff of Broad Run, which then nominate players from that list.

The monthly winner has their picture displayed in the weight room, name put on a plaque, receives a $25 gift certificate to the Ashburn Bagel Shop, a T-shirt and a certificate. All these items have been donated by local Loudoun business IT Cadre.
