College Corner: Broad Run Grad Holly King Named Second Team 2011 All-South Region Women's Soccer

(Dec. 19,. 2011) - Broad Run High School grad Holly King was one of three University of Florida juniors appear on National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Region teams. The three shares the lead among all programs represented in the first and second 2011 All-South Region teams.

Two Gators – Erika Tymrak (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) and Kathryn Williamson (McKinney, Texas) – are All-South Region first-team selections. King (Ashburn, Va.) appears on the region’s second team.


Tymrak, an All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection for the second consecutive year, makes her third appearance on the All-South Region team. She led Florida in 2011 with collegiate-highs for points (32) and goals (12) and finished second among the Gators in assists (8). In the final SEC standings, Tymrak stood third in points, shared third in goals and shared sixth in assists. She was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 5 after scoring two goals and providing an assist versus Texas Tech. The same stat line in the regular-season meeting versus Auburn earned her a spot on the College Soccer 360 Primetime Performers list.

Williamson made her second consecutive appearance on the All-SEC first team as a junior and also appeared on the SEC and First Tennessee Lady Vol Classic All-Tournament teams. She was twice named the SEC Defender of the Week and also appeared on Soccer America’s and Top Drawer Soccer National Teams of the Week during the course of the season. In 2011, Williamson started every contest at center back, playing the entirety of 23 matches. She led all field players with an average of 87.04 minutes per match.

In 2011, King earned spots on the All-SEC second team and also appeared on the SEC All-Tournament team. She turned in career highs of three goals and three assists for nine points from her holding midfield position. King played the entirety of 10 matches and averaged 78 minutes per match.
