Girls Volleyball: Heritage Hires Allison Smith as New Varsity Coach

Leesburg (May 9, 2013) - Heritage High School announced Thursday the hiring of Allison Smith as the new head girls volleyball varsity coach.

Smith is a graduate of Belmont Abbey College, where she was a scholarship member of the volleyball team and officer for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. In 2007 she led her conference for service aces, ranking 31st nationally.

Swim: Freedom Names Kim Koehler as New Head Boys, Girls Coach

(March 20, 2013) - Freedom High School athletic director Matt Oblas announced Tuesday that assistant coach Kim Koehler has been promoted to the head boys and girls swimming coach for the 2013-14 winter season.

Oblas: "Coach Koehler is obviously no stranger to the swim program, having served most recently as the assistant swim coach. She brings a wealth of expertise and swimming knowledge and will serve the program very well."

Koehler replaces Brent Miller.

In other coaching news at Freedom, Ernest Herring was approved as golf coach for the fall at the March 12 school board meeting.
