Football: Park View Players Attend "4th and Life" Forum Hosted at Redskins Park

Park View Patriots are front and center at forum

(May 27, 2011) - Football players and coaches from Park View High School were among more than 100 local players selected to attend a 4th and Life High School Football Forum held recently at Redskins Park.

The forum, hosted by the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and sponsored by Coca-Cola, included an informal, conversational atmosphere between Redskins alumni players such as LaVar Arrington, Gary Clark and Dexter Manley, and the high school athletes.

“To have this opportunity to give back, what better way to come back and be in here. It's a moment of giving back and sharing, with like I said, our little brothers," said Arrington. "To me, it's an elite fraternity when you are a football player, and to come back and talk to these young individuals, it's an honor. It's actually a very big honor to be able to do it here.”

The forum included players from 10 schools from Prince George's MD, Fairfax, Loudoun, Shenandoah and Warren County.

The forum allowed the young athletes to hear directly from some of the most well-known Redskins to play the game and learn from them what it takes to be successful as a football player and as a person. The discussion  touched on a variety of topics from peer pressure to staying and living healthy to planning for your next steps in life.
