Football: Tuscarora Rallies Past Warren County for First Ever Playoff Win

Leesburg (Nov. 13, 2011) - Senior Cameron Molina rushed for touchdowns on three consecutive possessions in the fourth quarter to help the Tuscarora Huskies overcome a seven-point deficit and defeat the Warren County Wildcats, 28-21, in the Region II Division 3 quarterfinals Nov. 11 in Leesburg.

The postseason victory was the first for Tuscarora and a defining moment for a second-year program that has been together for just 18 months. The fourth-seeded Huskies (9-2) will play at top seed Kettle Run (11-0) in the region semifinals Nov. 18.

The postseason victory was the first for the second-year Huskies.

Tuscarora senior Cameron Molina, the Division 3 Offensive Player of the Year in the Dulles District, rushed for 130 yards and scored three times in the fourth quarter. The fourth-seeded Huskies (9-2) will play at top seed Kettle Run (11-0) in the region semifinals.

Football: Loudoun Valley and Park View Fall in Playoffs

(Nov. 21, 2010) - Both Loudoun Valley and Park View had their football seasons end this weekend on the road as the Vikings fell in the Northwest Region Division 5 semifinals on Friday at undefeated Osbourn, 41-21, and the Patriots were shut out in the Region II Division 3 semifinals on Saturday at Warren County, 14-0.

In the Valley loss, Kevin Wiley rushed for 140 yards and Andrew Taylor score a touchdown on the ground and threw two touchdowns but the Eagles Dominique Terrell rushed for three touchdowns and 99 yards and threw for another 170 yards and a score. Osbourn also scored on a kickoff return as well as an interception return. Read a full report on the game from the Potomac News.

Football: Dominion Loses Heartbreaker in School's First Ever Playoff Game

Front Royal (Nov. 12, 2010) - Dominion High School senior Deandre Reaves rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns Friday night but it wasn't enough as the Titans fell in the closing minutes at Warren County, 29-26, in a Region II Division 3 quarterfinal game.

Dominion (4-7), making the school's first ever playoff appearance, piled up 354 yards rushing in the contest but managed just three yards passing and the Titans could not stop the passing game of Wildcat QB Tyler Post, who threw for three TDs including a score with one second left in the first half and the game-winning score with just 3:26 to go in the contest.

When asked if he was in shock after the loss, Reaves, Dominion's all-time leading rusher and one of the top running backs in Loudoun County history, said “yeah, I should be, so should everyone else.”

Reaves -- who broke off TD runs of 46, 18 and 84 yards and had an interception on defense in the game with the last TD run puttiing Dominion ahead, 26-22, on the final play of the third quarter -- continued,“We had the lead, we couldn’t key in on what they were doing until (it was too) late -- We got too comfy, (we) felt we had the win but got too comfortable. We played the clock instead of playing the game."

Wrestling: Loudoun County to Host Annual Raider Duals Saturday

Loudoun County High School is hosting the annual "Raider Duals" on Saturday.

Weigh-ins start at 9:00 am and wrestling starts at 10:00 am.
