Football: Stone Bridge Grad Mike Mattingly Transfers from Upper Iowa to Tusculum

(May 8, 2013) - Stone Bridge High School 2010 grad Mike Mattingly has been granted his scholarship release from Upper Iowa University and will transfer to Tusculum College in Greenville, Tenn. where he will play football for the Pioneers on a 70 percent football scholarship.

Football: Stone Bridge Grad Mattingly Signs to Play at Upper Iowa

(May 19, 2011) - Stone Bridge High School 2010 graduate Mike Mattingly has accepted a scholarship to play football at Upper Iowa University in Fayette Iowa.

The Peacocks are an NCAA Division 2 program and play in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference which includes D2 National Champion Minnesota Duluth.

Mattingly will play outside linebacker for Upper Iowa and enroll this August. Mattingly attended Lackawanna College last semester before transferring to Upper Iowa this fall. He was one of the leaders on the 2010 state runner-up Bulldogs team and recorded 49 tackles with 7 sacks his senior year while missing 4 games. Mattingly played most of the season with a torn Labrum in his right shoulder.

Mattingly weighed the possibility of playing baseball at Frederick Community College before deciding on Upper Iowa and football.
