Football: Dominion's Valenzuela Signs with Saint Francis

(March 8, 2013) - Dominion High School football standout, Matt Valenzuela, had his signing ceremony at the Sterling school recently. He earlier had signed with NCAA Division I-AA Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania. Valenzuela, a 4-year starter and multi purpose player for Dominion, will play tight end at St. Francis. Valenzuela is a two-time Titan MVP and was first team All-Dulles District for 2012.

Matt Valuenzuela: Saint Francis Signed! 

 (Feb. 6, 2013) - Perhaps the positions he played for Dominion High School over the years says it best as senior Matt Valenzuela starred at tight end, running back, wide receiver, defensive end and linebacker. Heck, he probably would have driven the Titans team bus if coach Karl Buckwalter had asked.

"He leaves a fantastic legacy and is probably the best overall football player in Dominion history," said Buckwalter.

Valenzuela didn't waste any time on National Signing Day, faxing his Letter of Intent this morning to play next year at NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (what most still call the I-AA) at Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania.

The Northeast Conference school is looking for the 6-foot-2, 220-pound workhorse to play tight end for the Red Flash.

(Feb. 6, 2013) - A pair of Sterling area hard-working football players have committed to playing in college next year in Pennsylvania with Dominion's Matt Valenzuela headed to Saint Francis University in Loretto and Potomac Falls' Kareen Watson, Jr., headed for California University of Pennsylvania in California, PA.
