(Mar. 21, 2011) - The Loudoun County Health Council, the Loudoun County Public Library and the Loudoun Medical Reserve Corps are sponsoring the second “Loudoun Health for Life Day” on Saturday, April 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place in Sterling.
The event is part of a wellness initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle for all Loudoun residents through good nutrition, physical fitness, and preventive healthcare. Activities during the event will include:
• Preventive Health Care Screenings: Blood pressure, body mass index, bone density and dermaview (risk for skin cancer) screenings will be available free of charge.
• Physical Fitness for All Ages: Training exercises, yoga demonstration, Nintendo Wii Fit, Dance Dance Revolution and other games.
• Healthy Cooking & Nutrition: Demonstrations and tastings • Activities Just for Children: Hands-on projects, also face painting, games, balloons and special library storytimes.
• Local Resources & Information: Learn, ask questions and take home free materials.
