Softball: Briar Woods Coach Jennifer Traina Steps Down to Become Assistant Principal at Champe

Jennifer Traina is overcome with emotion after Falcons win state title in 2011

(July 5, 2012) - Briar Woods High School softball coach Jennifer Traina, who led the Falcons to a AA state title in 2011, has stepped down to become an assistant principal at John Champe High School which opens in August.

Traina, the only head coach since Briar Woods softball started in 2005-06, turned the Falcons program from an 0-21 inaugural season into a contender with the culmination a state title in 2011 with a 25-4 record. Traina finished with a 100-66 record including a 86-18 mark over the last four years for a .827 winning percentage during the 4-year run highlighted by the play of pitcher Macy Jones (Penn State).
