Baseball: Briar Woods Hires Jason Miller as New Varsity Coach

Ashburn (Oct. 27, 2010) - Briar Woods High School announced Wednesday that Jason Miller has been hired as the Falcons new varsity baseball coach.

Miller, who moves over from Park View where he has been an assistant varsity coach for the past two seasons, replaces Josh Mosser who stepped down after the spring season.

Miller is a 1998 Graduate of John Handley High School in Winchester, where he was a left-handed pitcher and outfielder for the Judges. In 2002 he graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Social Sciences.

He has served as an assistant high school baseball coach for the last nine seasons: first as a varsity pitching coach for Radford High School, then a varsity assitant at Sherando, JV coach at Sherando, Park View, and Heritage high schools, and most recently as the varsity assistant at Park View High School for the last two seasons.

In addition to his high school coaching career, Miller led the Winchester Post 21 American Legion baseball program from 2005-2007 winning two district championships and compiling a 78-21 overall record. Miller also teaches social sciences at Heritage High School in Leesburg. Miller's wife Sara also teaches in Loudoun County at Woodgrove High School, they have a son Brady Miller who is 11 months old.
