College Corner: Broad Run Grad Scudder Earns Academic Ivy League Honors at Dartmouth

Hanover, N.H. (March 13, 2013) - Broad Run High School grad and Dartmouth College government major Elisa Scudder was named Academic All-Ivy League after the fall women's volleyball season. The 6-foot-2 middle blocker led Big Green (2-22 record) in blocks with 64 total. She played in 21 matches with 161 kills and a .294 hitting percentage. She also had 18 service aces and 75 digs on the season.

Scudder now has 485 career kills at Dartmouth and 209 total blocks.

Football: Freedom's Cameron Nizialek to Kick in the Ivy League at Columbia

South Riding (Feb. 11, 20013) - Freedom High School senior punter/kicker Cameron Nizialek signed his letter of admission last week in a cermony to attend and play football at Columbia University in New York, NY beginning in the fall of 2013.

Nizialek will be competing as a punter and a placekicker for the Lions. Columbia University is a member of the Ivy League in the Football Chamionship Series level of the NCAA. He will be playing for coach Peter Mangurian who is entering his second season with the Lions.

Football: Heritage's Chris Aguemon is Ivy League Bound, to Play at Dartmouth

Leesburg (Dec. 30, 2012) - Just before Christmas, Heritage High School senior Chris Aguemon announced that he has committed to play football next year in the Ivy League at Dartmouth College. Aguemon says he will make the transition from outside linebacker to strong safety at the college level.

College Corner: Flint Hill Grad Shane Savage Named Third Team All-American by College Sports Madness for Ivy League Cornell

(Dec 6, 2011) - Flint Hill High School grad Shane Savage has been named to the Football Championship Subdivision Third Team All-American team by College Sports Madness for Cornell University. Savage was one of three Ivy League players who were honored for their successful 2011 seasons.

Savage was a first-team All-Ivy League selection for the first time after leading the Ivy League in receptions (65), receiving yards (1080) and receiving touchdowns (12). He finished fifth nationally in yards per game and 13th in receptions per game while setting school records for season yards and touchdowns.

Savage is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

College Corner: Broad Run Grad Scudder Helps Dartmouth to 12-7 Mark After Record-Setting Freshman Season

(Oct. 28, 2011) - Broad Run High School graduate Elisa Scudder has played in all but one set her sophomore season at Dartmouth, helping the Big Green to a 12-7 overall mark currently and 4-4 in the Ivy League. Scudder had a record-setting freshman campaign with her name in the record books for kill percentages and blocks.

Scuddder has 121 kills this season on 283 total attacks with a .286 hitting percentage. She has 12 service aces and leads the team with 60 total blocks. More on Dartmouth women's volleyball here.
