News: Broad Run Holds Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Events at Tonight's Football Game

(Oct. 14, 2011) - October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Broad Run High School students are holding their annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign to create awareness among students and the community. The weeklong campaign culminates tonight with the Broad Run football team taking on Osbourn in a key AAA Cedar Run District match-up. The community is invited to come out for some family fun, school spirit, and a great cause!

“Got Pink?” is inspired by Broad Run DECA’s previous successful Breast Cancer Awareness events known as “Rock the Pink”, “Pink Aid”, and “Pink Effect.” Supporters will wear the new “Got Pink?” black t-shirts to “leave breast cancer in the dark.” “Got Pink?” shirts will be sold at the game, as they were also sold at Farmwell Station Middle School and Broad Run High School throughout the week.

Raffle tickets, baked goods, cotton candy and many more items will be available for sale with all proceeds and donations going to the Loudoun Breast Health Network. The Broad Run DECA chapter aims to raise over $10,000 for this cause and the students need the community’s support to reach this number.

The “Got Pink?” campaign included activities for students throughout the week leading up to the football game including t-shirt sales, distributing related information, hosting guest speakers, and more.

When: Friday October 14, 2011 – tailgate at 5:00PM followed by kickoff at 7:00PM
