News: Dulles Greenway's 8th Annual Driver for Charity Nets Record $268,942 for Local Charities

(May 17, 2013) - The Dulles Greenway’s 8th annual Drive For Charity has set a new record for donations with an amazing $268,942.85 collected on Thursday, May 16, 2013. As always, this money will be donated to great local charities and a local scholarship program.

(May 15, 2013) - The Dulles Greenway's 2013 Drive for Charity is Thursday, May 16. Every year the Dulles Greenway sets aside a day to donate collected tolls back to the community. Since the program began in 2006, more than $1.5 million collected has helped local nonprofits in their quest to help the citizens of Loudoun County.

In addition, monies raised goes towards the Dulles Greenway Scholarship fund, awarding scholarships to one student from each Loudoun County high school.

(April 9, 2012) - For the 140 program participants of the non-profit ECHOworks, the Dulles Greenway is a path toward self-fulfillment in more ways than one.

More than a long strip of smooth asphalt that conveys them to jobsites around Loudoun and western Fairfax, the Greenway -- through proceeds generated from its annual "Drive For Charity" campaign, held this year on May 17 -- also provides them with the van they rode in on.
