Girls Lacrosse: Loudoun County Assistant Megan Kerns Moves up to Head Coach

Leesburg (Aug. 24, 2012) - Loudoun County High School girls lacrosse assistant coach Megan Kerns has been promoted to head coach of the Raiders girls program. Also, former Loudoun County boys coach Dennis O'Hara will join the girls staff as an assistant coach.

O'Hara stepped down from the boys program after the spring due to a potential conflict with his schedule. With that conflict now cleared up, O'Hara is returning to Loudoun County on the girls side.

Raider AD Ken Wright: "Those conflicts look like they are not going to materialize after all, and so we keep his knowledge and leadership at LCHS, something I could not have envisioned in June. A great gain for our girls lax program, and the whole athletic program."

Loudoun County: Raiders Baseball Coach Lucero; Boys Lax Coach O'Hara Will Not Return

(June 22, 2012) - Loudoun County High School will have two new head coaches next spring as the Raiders parted ways earlier this month with long-time baseball coach Tom Lucero and boys lacrosse coach Dennis O'Hara resigns after leading the Raiders to a school-record season.

Boys Lacrosse: Loudoun County Hires Dennis O'Hara as New Varsity Coach

(Aug. 25, 2011) - Loudoun County High School athletic director Ken Wright confirmed Thursday that Dennis O'Hara has been approved as the Raiders new boys varsity lacrosse coach at the Loudoun County Public Schools board meeting this week.

According to Wright: "Coach O'Hara has extensive background in lacrosse, coaching, and last year served as our head JV Coach. Many of the players have played for him in fall leagues and winter ball. Coach O'Hara has a great plan in place for continuing the success we have seen and even taking us to the next level. We am excited to have him in place."

Rounding out the staff, also approved by LCPS: Joel McGaughey will serve as assistant varsity coach; Steve Herin moves from Freedom High School to head the Raiders JV program and will be assisted by David Lancaster, who returns to that position from last year.
