Softball: Briar Woods to Host AGSL Night

Ashburn (Apr. 7, 2011) - The Briar Woods High School softball program will host Ashburn Girls Softball League Night this Friday, April 8 when the Falcons welcome Tuscarora to Ashburn at 6 p.m. All AGSL players wearing their uniforms will be admitted to the game free of charge, and AGSL players will be invited onto the field to stand at their positions with a Briar Woods player for the national anthem.

Additionally, AGSL players will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win Briar Woods spirit wear, including hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and backpacks, donated by the Briar Woods Bookstore. After the game, AGSL players will be invited onto the field to meet the Falcon softball team. The Briar Woods mascot, Freddie the Falcon, will also be at the game.

There will also be a free raffle for all fans for gift certificates for one hour of free instruction and one hour of free cage rental courtesy of Diamond Sports Training in Sterling, gift certificates from Foster’s Grille at the Shoppes at Ryan Park in Ashburn and a gift certificate from California Tortilla in the Brambleton Town Center.

Donations for the Brambleton Ribbon Run/Walk, which benefits The Step Sisters and their fundraising efforts to fight breast cancer, will also be accepted throughout the game. The Falcon softball team will be participating in the event Saturday morning at the Brambleton Town Center.
