Swim: Potomac Falls Boys, Dominion Girls Take Dulles District Titles

(Jan. 28, 2013) - The Potomac Falls High School boys swim team took their second straight Dulles District meet title Saturday at Claude Moore and the Panthers 8th overall district titles in the 12 years since the district was formed.

On the girls side, history was made as Dominion swam to its first ever title.


The Panther boys cruised home with a 100-plus point lead over runner-up Briar Woods (418 to 301) with Tuscarora third. The Titan girls scored 330.5 to edge Briar Woods (299) and Potomac Falls (287), two teams that had combined for the last seven district titles.

William Lin of Potomac Falls (200 IM, 500 free), Aidan O'Hara  of Dominion (200 free, 100 back), Kaleigh Rosenburg of Heritage (200 IM, 100 breast), and Rachel Williams of Dominion (200 free, 100 fly) all took home two individual titles.

Williams was the biggest winner of the night, swimming anchor on the Titans winning 200 and 400 free relay teams. Lin swam the opening leg on the Panthers winning 200 medley relay winner, which set a district meet mark.

The other two boys district records were O'Hara beating his own time in the 100 back and the Tuscarora boys winning 400 free relay team.

On the girls side, Rosenburg continues her assault on the record books, breaking her own district record in both the 200 IM and 100 breast. Teammate Carrie Lee also set a district best in the 100 back.

Briar Woods girls were honored at the meet for their regular-season championship as the Falcons ran their district unbeaten streak in duals to 36 straight meets, dating back to the 2008-09 season. The Potomac Falls boys added the regular-season title to their district meet crown.
