(Jan. 29, 2013) - Today is "Shop Local, Give Local" Day in Loudoun with local businesses rallying for good causes. The following businesses are participating in the event, organized by the
Loyal Local's Localution Project:
The Cajun Experience restaurant in Leesburg on Loudoun Street is hosting Loudoun’s first DISHMOB! When a customer orders the lunch or dinner chef special anytime between noon and 7PM, the Cajun Experience will be donating a portion of the profit to Loudoun Interfaith Relief.. Last year, Loudoun Interfaith Relief supplied food to more than 80,000 people! Come enjoy fine Cajun cuisine while also helping Loudoun residents in need of food for their families.
CycleLuv, Loudoun’s only dedicated indoor cycling studio, is donating to the Humane Society of Loudoun.
During all classes on January 29th, CycleLuv will be collecting items to donate to the Humane Society of Loudoun. Please consider bringing an item from their wish list or a monetary donation and also try out Loudoun’s only dedicated cycling studio! Iris and her team will be matching donations that day to bring to the many needy animals at the Humane Society.
SportBounce has an open bounce from 10-11:30am on Tuesday, January 29th. When a customer mentions that they are participating in the “Shop Local. Give Local Day,” Sport Bounce will donate 50% of their admission price to LAWS in the form of a check payable directly to LAWS. Advance sign up is appreciated (by emailing sportbounceva@aol.com) and customers can pay at the door. Socks and waiver are required and no food is permitted during open bounce.
Lost Rhino Brewing Company is donating to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through firefighter, Vicki Clary’s team in training.
Lost Rhino Brewing Company in Ashburn will be having an Oyster Roast on Tuesday, January 29th from 4-9pm. The Short Hill Mountain Boys will be playing from 6-9pm! Jen Clist , a Team in Training teammate, is running the Nike Half Marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Come into Misguided Angels in Brambleton and mention the “Shop Local. Give Local.” Day! 15% of your purchase will be donated to the IIIB’s Foundation to make their Bosom Buddy Baskets to comfort women during breast cancer surgery and treatment. Please also consider getting a group of friends together for the third annual Pink Tie Charity Ball on February 16th where Alfred Morris of the Redskins will be a guest and the honorary chair!

WellSpring Pilates is donating to Backpack Buddies for Loudoun County Schools:
WellSpring Pilates in Leesburg (near Brambleton and Aldie) is donating 40% of first time appointments and New Year’s Special Packages sold on January 29th to Backpack Buddies of Loudoun County. Backpack Buddies is in need of funds to fill backpacks with food for kids who need food to eat during each weekend. At this time, volunteers are doing everything they can out of pocket and through day to day donations. In the “richest county in the US”, sometimes it’s hard to see that there are hungry kids right here in our schools.
