News: Registration for LCPS Summer in the Arts Program Has Started

(Mar. 4, 2010) - Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) students currently in fifth through 11th grades are eligible to take part in the Summer in the Arts (SIA) program June 28 through July 9 at Heritage High School.

Online registration for this program began March 1. To register, go to the LCPS Web page, www.loudoun.k12.va.us, and look for the Fine Arts button under Quick Links. Registration will be under SIA under this button.

Some classes fill up quickly.

SIA consists of workshops in the performing, literary, visual and creative arts. Offerings range from beginner/introductory to advanced/intensive workshops. Some workshops are mixed-grade and mixed-ability grouped. Others are designated for separate grade ranges.

Instructors for the workshops are chosen from Loudoun’s finest arts teachers in both public and private education. The program will conclude with a culminating final “Arts Explosion” from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 10th.
