(Mar. 10, 2010) - The Freedom High School girls and Potomac Falls High School boys knew after Tuesday night that they would be playing for VHSL Division 4 state basketball titles this coming Saturday and they found out today whom they will be facing.
Freedom will take on Spotswood at 7 p.m. at VCU's Siegel Center Saturday in the girls D4 final and then Potomac Falls will face Broadway, a team it beat earlier this season, at 9 p.m. in the boys D4 final.
Last year's Division 3 state champion, Freedom (20-5) beat Turner Ashby, 44-27, Tuesday in a defensive battle. Spotswood (20-6) defeated York on Wednesday, 60-47.
Potomac Falls (22-2), a 66-57 winner over Spotswood Tuesday, will face a Broadway team that beat Courtland, 65-60, Wednesday. The Panthers beat the Gobblers, 63-50, on Jan. 15.
