Music: 25 Loudoun County Public Schools Students Qualify for National ACDA Choirs

(Feb. 28, 2013) - Twenty-five Loudoun County Public Schools students have qualified for the prestigious American Choral Directors Association (ADCA) national choirs. These choirs consist of choral students from throughout the United States. The students were selected after a rigorous audition process. They will perform at the ACDA convention March 13-16 in Dallas.

Girls Volleyball: Undefeated Belmont Ridge Crowned LYV Select Champs

(Nov. 14, 2012) - The Belmont Ridge Middle school select girls volleyball team went undefeated in match play this season and beat the Simpson select team in three sets over the weekend to take the league championship.

Congratulations to the following members of the Belmont Ridge Select Volleyball Team: Lauren Ashwell, Alexandra Fuerst, Ryley Gill, Soraya Hayes, Lizzie Hopkins, Vanessa Marinelli, Brooke McLaughlin, Ashley Schaberg, Haley Schneider, and Gabbie Scudder. Coaches for the team were TOdd Schaberg and Mary Chris Gill.

Music: Loudoun County Public Schools Classical Guituartists Participate in Beatty Music Festival

(April 16, 2012) - The International Conservatory of Music of Washington, D.C., recently sponsored its 6th Annual Beatty Music Scholarship Competition for Classical Guitar on the campus of The George Washington University.

The Beatty Music Scholarship Competition was created to celebrate and encourage young classical guitarists and musicians in the Washington metropolitan area. Students compete for five prizes in three different categories, Youth (up to age 12), Junior (13 to 15 years old), and Senior (16 to 18 years old).

Freedom High School's Young Jun Lim was awarded the Grand Prize Scholarship, which includes an additional monetary prize as well as full scholarship to the National Guitar Workshop’s Classical Guitar Summit this summer in New Milford, Conn.

News: SEUSSICAL the Musical is Coming to Belmont Ridge Middle School

Leesburg (April 10, 2012) - Belmont Ridge Middle School proudly presents SEUSSICAL at Belmont Ridge Middle School, 19045 Upper Belmont Place in Lansdowne for two weekends in April, 2012.

Show dates are April 12, 13 and 14, and April 19, 20, and 21. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and performances begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening. There are also Saturday matinee performances at 1:00 p.m. on April 14 and 21. Doors for the matinees open at 12:30 p.m.
