(July 7, 2010) - Two of Loudoun's top rising senior athletes are heading into their final year of high school sports with their NCAA Division I college choices wrapped up after verbal commitments this summer with Stone Bridge's Rob Burns choosing Virginia after receiving 10 football offers and Loudoun County's Brantley Kushner to play golf at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Kushner was the 2010 Dulles District champion. Raider Athletic Director Ken Wright said that Miami was "Brantley's first choice all along and he was thrilled to make the (verbal) commitment to them ... Well done Brantley!"
Burns, a towering 6-foot-7 defensive lineman who helped the Bulldogs make it to the Division 5 state title game last year, had double digit offers before narrowing it down to Boston College and Virginia. Read more about Burns in this Loudoun Times-Mirror article that includes a video interview.
