Football: Running Backs Gain Quickly on 1,000-Yard Milestone in Big Week

(Oct. 25, 2012) - No sooner than we said last week that Woodgrove's Josh Sweet and Tuscarora's Noah Reimers might be the only backs to bust 1,000 yards rushing on the season and then a bevy of backs tore after the milestone.

It was by far the biggest week of the season for running backs with the top seven backs on our leader charts combining for a whopping 1,046 yards on 129 carries (nifty 8.1 average) and 17 touchdowns and those gaudy numbers don't even include the monster game that Freedom's Brendan Kammerdiener  and John Champe's Andrew Bushrod threw together: 641 yards on 62 carries (10.3 average) and 7 touchdowns in Aldie.

Football: Woodgrove's Sweet Only Back to Bust 1,000 Yards on Season

(Oct. 17, 2012) - Woodgrove High School's Josh Sweet is the only area back to break the 1,000 yard rushing mark thus far with 1,144 yards on 157 rushing attempts. Noah Reimers of Tuscarora is poised to join Sweet with just shy of 900 yards to date. Loudoun Valley's Andrew Cordani will need to average 100 yards a game over the final three contests to become the third back in the club.
