Video: Interviews from AA State Tournament in Radford

(June 11, 2012) - One of the highlights of making the trip to Radford each year -- in addition to watching Carl "Moon Walk" Lukat of the Loudoun Times-Mirror break dance after hours -- is those happy postgame interviews after the Loudoun teams win. Here are some interviews we brought back from this year's 2012 trip:

We start with the Woodgrove High School girls soccer beating Blacksburg, 3-0, and defender Katie Beebe and midfielder Lexi Clarke breaking down the semifinal win:
 


Next up: we speak with Woodgrove defender Brittany Basinger and keeper Maggie Buxton, about the shutout:



After Woodgrove won, Loudoun County High School girls soccer beat Jefferson Forest, 1-0, to advance to the finals against district rival Woodgrove. We spoke with freshman twins -- technically they are triplets but only two sisters play soccer! -- Allison Littell, who scored the game's only goal, and Emily Littell:




Tuscarora High School boys soccer made it 3-for-3 for AA local teams on Friday with a stunning 4-1 win over Blacksburg. We talk to Francisco Salvador and Angel Ceron-Garcia who each scored two goals:




State Champions! We talk with Allie Reid who tossed a 2-hitter and hit a home run Saturday to lead Woodgrove to a 9-0 win over Broadway in the AA state title game!





State Champions! Just hours earlier the Woodgrove girls soccer team beat Loudoun County, 3-0, to win the AA State Title. We spoke with Wolverines coach Erin Barrett after the victory celebration!
