Football: Stone Bridge's Ben Branower to Play at Historic McDaniel College

Ashburn (Mar. 4, 2011) - Stone Bridge High School senior captain and linebacker Ben Branower will play football next year at NCAA Division III McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.

Branower, an all-Liberty District linebacker, helped the Bulldogs to a perfect 10-0 regular season and 14-1 overall record with a second straight trip to the VHSL Division 5 state title game.

The Green Terrors play in the Centennial Conference where they went 4-5 in the fall and 5-5 overall. The historic liberal arts college of 1,700 students opened in 1867 as Western Maryland College and started playing football in 1891.

Branower will join another Loudoun player at McDaniel, Loudoun County grad Tim McLister was a sophomore DB in the fall, combining for 29 tackles.
