News: Loudoun County Sheriff's Investigates Death of Ashburn Female on House Arrest

(June 28, 2013) - An Ashburn, Virginia, woman on a court ordered home incarceration was found unconscious in her home and later passed away on June 24.

Sarena L. Carroll, 24, was sentenced on larceny charges and ordered by the courts to serve an at home incarceration. On Monday, a Sheriff’s Office Correctional Deputy was performing a residential visit at Carroll’s home located in the 44200 block of Big Trail Terrace. The deputy made several attempts to contact Carroll by knocking on her door and via the telephone.

After receiving no response, the deputy contacted the apartment property manager and gained access to the apartment. Carroll was found unconscious in the apartment. Rescue personnel were immediately summoned to the scene. Carroll was taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital where she later passed away. 

Due to Carroll’s extensive medical issues, the cause of death remains under investigation pending the final autopsy report from the Office of the Medical Examiner. There are no signs of foul play.
