Basketball: Friday Night Scoreboard + Skinny

(Dec. 10, 2010) - It was mostly tournament action on Friday night highlighted by Woodgrove High School's shocking boys, girls sweep over Purcellville neighbor Loudoun Valley. And in Dulles District action, the Dominion High School girls score a 1-point win over Briar Woods, while the Falcon boys run away from the Titans.

The Skinny: Falcons win big in only Dulles District contest on the night.Yves kouame led BW with 24. Corey Faciane and Myles Tate each added 18 for the Falcons. Jerome Ramsey led the Titans with eight points.

Loudoun Valley TipOff

The Skinny: "Little brother" did what to "big brother"?!? Vikes were led by John Yoxthimer with 17 points and seven rebounds. Mike Wallace added 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists for Valley.

The Skinny: Young Huskies fall to 0-3 in first season.

Park View/Potomac Falls Tournament at Potomac Falls
Park View 70, Heritage 65
The Skinny: Ryan McCarter scores 21 for Pats and Dante Absher hits for 19 and Alec Dombkowski scores 18. Absher had half of Park Views's six 3-pointers, all in the second half as both he and Dombkowski combined for 28 points after the break. Austin Nelson led Heritage with 17 and Bryan Launi added 11.
Potomac Falls 68, Stone Bridge 56
The Skinny: This game wasn't as close as the final score indicates as the Panthers led 41-17 at the half and emptied their bench with 12 players scoring. Greg Graves led PFalls with 17 and Lukas Mihailovich, who needs 18 points to reach 1,000 in his career, had 11. Bulldog Michael Hamrick led all scorers with 21, including five 3-pointers. Myles Johnson and Tommy Dunne combined for 21 for SB.

Girls Basketball
Dominion 40, Briar Woods 39
The Skinny: Only Dulles District game on the night and a huge win for Titans. Imani Smith, Dayna Covey and Alexia Johnson all score 10 points for Dominion in win. Ashley O'Neill and Brittany Gilbert each score 16 for BWoods.

Park View/Potomac Falls Tournament at Park View
Stone Bridge 55, Potomac Falls 25
The Skinny: Bulldogs move to 2-0 on season. Cori Prince scores 14 points including four 3-pointers and she had five assists. Murielle Tiernan added nine points for SB.
Heritage 49, Park View 38
The Skinny: Heritage improves to 4-2 with win. The Pride were led by Sydney McDonald with 15 points and Breanna Smart with 13 points. Christina Sheppard led the Pats with 14.
