(Feb. 8, 2010) - Loudoun County Public Schools faced with 30 inches of snow from a storm of this or any century, the prospect of as much as 10 more inches Tuesday night, and flush with a school calendar that builds in 15 "snow days", has cancelled school the remainder of the week.
Of course this darn near destroys the postseason schedule for swimming, gymnastics and wrestling and puts the basketball season way behind. Stay tuned for announcements on how everything will be made up. There could be action on Saturday but there will be no games or events between now and Friday.
Even with the week off, Loudoun students will actually have a week of "snow days" in the bank.

LCPS has 14 snow days built in.
ReplyDeleteI just read in the Washington Post that it is 15 days! Basically Loudoun doesn't really have extra days built in but kids in Loudoun have a longer school day than mandated by the state and when you add up the extra minutes from each day, you get more than two weeks worth of extra "school days"
